How to Kill Titans in Attack on Titan Paradis
Napes, legs, spears — the Scout checklist that actually ends a life.
Killing a titan in Attack on Titan Paradis is a geometry problem dressed as an anime moment. The nape is the kill box. Everything else is setup: gas, camera height, a stun, or a spear. If you came from the story, you already know the lore. If you came from a 0-kill session, you need this page.
You should already be able to hook. If not, ODM controls first. Getting started if you still spawn without gear.
The nape
Aim at the back of the neck, slightly high, and move through the box while you slash. Stopping on the skin is how you tickle a shoulder. Comments on the Paradis ODM guide ask “is that the nape?” because the camera lies when you are too low or too far left.
Practical nape run:
- Hook a point behind the titan (wall, tree, another body).
- Boost so your path crosses the neck, not the ribs.
- Draw blades before the cross. Reload mid-flight if you have to, never after you arrive.
- Slash on the pass. Do not turn around for a second vanity swing unless the target is stunned.
- Unhook and climb. Standing in the hand radius after a failed nape is how Scouts donate kills to Jaw.
Against a player shifter, the nape still matters. They know it too. Fake a low pass, then actually go high. Roar highlight from the map rework can paint you — assume a smart titan looks up when they roar.
Leg cuts (stun)
Paradis players discovered that a boosted ODM hit on a titan leg can stun the body for a couple of seconds. The ODM video author did not even have it in the script; commenters had to explain it. Treat it as real until a patch says otherwise.
How to attempt it:
- You need speed. Walk-by slashes on a calf do nothing.
- Boost on a hook that aims you at the knee/ankle, not the belly.
- Hit and leave. The stun is your window for a nape, not a time to pose.
Legs are harder than napes. Use them on distracted PvE bodies or on a shifter who just whiffed a swipe. Do not open a Jaw fight with a leg you cannot finish.
Thunder spears
Scout mains in Paradis showcases often say ODM plus spears is easier titan removal than swords alone. Spears let you punish Armored plates and Colossal bulk from a safer line. Default carry count is limited; +2 Thunder Spears is an 80 Robux pass on the game pass page.
Spear rules of thumb:
- Do not dump both spears into a miss because you panicked at roar highlight.
- Use a spear to create the stun window if you cannot land a leg cut.
- Against Colossal, spears are for the nape you cannot physically hover on.
- Against Jaw, spears are a maybe — the kit is too fast. Blades and verticality first. See Jaw Titan.
If you hate spears, that is a valid Scout identity. Just know you are choosing the harder nape skill.
Target priority in a mixed lobby
A 20-player server is not a training dummy. Priority:
- The shifter looking at you (survival).
- The shifter looking at your teammate if a nape is free (tempo).
- Slow PvE bodies for practice and to clear camera clutter.
Attack Titan is the honest duel. Armored is a spear puzzle. Colossal is a “do not stand under the transform” puzzle. Warhammer needs its secondary to hit you — if the crystal is down, that is your nape window. Beast wants distance; close it. Female wants to keep you in kick range; take height.
The titan tier list is the matchup sheet. This page is the trigger pull.
When you are the titan
Killing from the other side is still “how to kill titans” if the titan is an enemy Scout in your hand. Grab attempts lose to players who unhook on time. Roar to highlight, then swipe the painted target. Do not spin as Colossal — that rotation bug was patched because it looked ridiculous and broke hit detection.
If you eject, you become a nape. Land near a refill, not in a plaza.
Common reasons a titan will not die
- You never drew blades (R on many PC setups).
- You hit the hair, the shoulder, or the steam, not the nape box.
- You are out of gas and the “slash” is a standing poke.
- You are fighting Armored with knives and pride instead of a spear.
- The target is a player who already roared you and is waiting.
- You are on mobile and your attack button is under a jump thumb. Fix that on mobile.
A 15-minute hunt plan
Warm up hooks for three minutes. Then only take fights you start from above. Count napes landed, not titans “almost.” If the number is zero, you do not need a new shifter — you need another pass at controls. If the number is greater than zero, read how to play and start choosing targets on purpose.
No codes will nape for you. No scripted kill-all belongs in a public match without reading script safety. The nape is still a camera skill.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers from the Attack on Titan Paradis wiki.
Where do I hit to kill a titan in Attack on Titan Paradis?
The nape — the back of the neck. Aim slightly high and slash while moving through the box.
Do leg cuts kill?
They can stun if you boost into the limb. Follow with a nape. Details above.
Are thunder spears better than blades?
Many Scout mains think spears make titan kills easier. Blades still teach nape geometry. Extra spears are a Robux pass.
Why does Armored take so many hits?
You are fighting plates. Use spears and patience. See Armored Titan.
